Dr. Xuan Tan is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Information Systems and Analytics at Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics, data analysis, operations management, and data visualization. Her research interests center on healthcare informatics, healthcare policy, and data visualization.

Dr. Tan's published research examines how data-driven approaches can improve health outcomes and inform policy. Her work has appeared in journals including the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association, Health Affairs, the Journal of Medical Internet Research, and the International Journal of Medical Informatics. Her scholarship addresses topics such as the impact of health information exchange on patient outcomes and hospital data breach risk, the role of social determinants of health in clinical risk prediction, and the application of machine learning to urgent stroke triage.

Before joining Santa Clara, Dr. Tan served as a Research Assistant and Instructor at Florida International University. Her earlier professional experience includes positions at Founder Securities and Robert Bosch GmbH in China.

Dr. Tan holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems and Business Analytics from Florida International University, an M.Sc. in Business Analytics: Operational Research and Risk Analysis from the University of Manchester, and a B.Sc. in Accounting from Central South University in China.
